Connecticut dental insurance coverages, Should I keep my Dental Insurance
I just got a dental insurance plan about two months ago. I got my ID cards in the mail and I went in for my first dental appointment in the past three years. I was really happy that I was going to finally have my teeth looked at.
Well I was told for the most part I have really strong teeth but since I have not been to the dentist is a long time I have the starting of gingivitis.  So I will be needed deep cleaning. Which I also found out that my dental insurance plan I got will not cover me for.  That I have a year waiting period I did not know about for major dental work.
Now I have to pay out of pocket for my dental services and not sure if it is even worth keeping a dental plan that is going to make me wait a year for major dental work.

Are you getting the dental plan though a job as dental benefits ? If so you are normally paying only half the cost of the plan so keeping it would be a good idea.
If you bought the plan on your own then you may not have read the term and conditions. Becuase waiting periods are disclosed in all the plans that have them. At least on this web site I asure you.
With that said. You can get a dental discount plan that is very low in it monthly cost. A discount plan would start right away with no waiting periods.
You could use the plan while you have the waiting periods on your insurance and cover both needs.
